I just don't know what comes after acceptable to reach the professional sound and was interested in whether a plugin/suite can just magically add a bit of sparkle to it to make it sound better without very much effort. I've done some demos at home, that will convey the sound of each instrument and are listenable. I'm simply interested in what these can do to make my sound more pro.

If you want to do it yourself.the best thing you could do is actually see what a mastering engineer does first. The last three are what you can do to make your mix louder, but will likely end up with a lot of trial and error which will be both frustrating and probably disheartening. The first answer is my opinion, and will likely net you the best 'pro' results. Just put it on the main bus and add the linear phase EQ with the Opto-compressor, followed by the limiter set to -.03 and with a slow attack and release. It's analog modeling sounds vintage and adds just the right amount of tube warmth without squashing the mix. It comes with everything you need to master your track, and it will get you professional results with little work.ģ. Definitley use Wavelab because it's the best program out there. Ozone is the best, slap that on the master bus and add some EQ, limit and compress until it's as loud as you need it.Ģ. The answer you want to hear is something like:ġ.
